Post-Operative Instructions for Endoscopic Browlift

  1. Sleep with head elevated on two pillows for 10 days to minimize swelling of the forehead.
  2. Clean incisions with hydrogen peroxide followed by antibiotic ointment (e.g. Neosporin, Bacitracin) at least three times a day.
  3. Do not wash hair for two days. Use a gentle shampoo such as Johnson’s baby shampoo for two weeks after surgery.
  4. Dr. TerKonda will see you in the Clinic the morning after surgery. He may replace the pressure dressing on the forehead. This can be removed the 2nd morning after surgery at home.
  5. If the eyes become swollen or bruised, apply gauze soaked in a mixture of saline and ice over the eyelids. This should be repeated every hour while awake for the next 12-24 hours. Eyelid swelling is variable after endoscopic browlift.
  6. The staples from your scalp incisions will be removed 10 days after surgery.
  7. No heavy exercise or lifting for 10 days.
  8. Notify Dr. TerKonda’s office for the following: temperature above
    101.5 F, increasing pain, blurry or double vision.
