Sunil S. Jani, MD, MS
Dr. Sunil Jani received a master's degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by fellowship training in sports medicine at Taos Orthopaedic Institute in New Mexico. Dr. Jani maintains a special interest in sports medicine (including non-surgical, arthroscopic and open surgical interventions), knee disorders (ACL and other ligamentous injuries, meniscus and cartilage problems, patellofemoral issues, and arthritis), shoulder/elbow issues (rotator cuff, instability, arthritis), hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacements, as well as fractures and orthopedic trauma.
Dr. Jani finds it extremely rewarding to learn about each of his patient’s issues and goals, and then working with them to formulate a plan to help them move past their pain and regain their function. He says, “Sometimes my patients need to get back to their world tour; sometimes they need to get back to their walks in the park. Whatever the goal, I recognize the importance, and it is a privilege to help the patient achieve it.”
Prior to starting medical training, Dr. Jani was an athlete who competed worldwide in freestyle footbag (hacky-sack) tournaments. He still enjoys playing, along with everything else Colorado has to offer: skiing, mountain biking, running and hiking. He is married with one young daughter. Dr. Jani joined UCHealth Longmont Clinic in September 2015.
Dr. Jani can be reached at 720.494.3132.
