Katherine Atherton-Wood, N.P.
Katherine Atherton-Wood graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, with a B.A. in linguistics in 1994. After working as a case manager in a residential treatment center, she went on to attend the University of Colorado Health Science Center to complete her Master of Science: Family Nurse Practitioner degree and Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2002. Katherine is board certified as a family nurse practitioner and also holds certification as a case manager. She has a special interest in partnering with patients to help them reach both short and long-term health goals. Since 2002, she has worked at la Casa Quigg Newton Community Clinic at Denver Health and Jefferson County Department of Health. Katherine joined Longmont Clinic in October 2006.

David W. McCarty, D.O.
Dr. David McCarty graduated from the
University of Colorado in 1970
and received his D.O. from the
College of Osteopathic Medicine
and Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa,
in 1973. He then completed an
internship and an internal
medicine residency in 1979 with
St. Luke's Hospital in Denver,
Colorado. Dr. McCarty is active

Susan Nelson, F.N.P.
Susan Nelson recieved a degree in Nursing from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, PA in 1970. She then attended Metropolitan State College in Denver and graduated with a Bachelor of Science: Adult Nurse Practitioner degree in 1978. She continued her schooling at the University of Colorado and obtained a Master's degree in Nursing in 1979. She then did an independant study in Pediatrics at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Since 1980, Sue has worked as a Nurse Practitioner at a variety of family health centers in Colorado - including: the Berthoud Health Center, the Columbine Family Health Center, United Medical Center of Berthoud, and Family Physicians of Windsor. Sue came to work at Longmont Clinic in 2002. She sees patients in both the Family Medicine department and the Internal Medicine department.

Jonathan Welker, P.A.
Jonathan (Jon) Welker earned his B.S. from Colorado State University in 2002, majoring in Animal Sciences with a minor in anatomy and neurobiology. In 2004 he earned his M.S. from the University of Idaho in animal sciences specializing in reproductive physiology. He then worked in primary biomedical research before attending school to become a Physician's Assistant. In 2009 he graduated with a Masters in Medical Science and earned his PA certification from Midwestern University- Glendale, Arizona campus. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants. Jonathan joined the Longmont Clinic in December 2009.
